Whale Maritime Europe Opens in Rotterdam on 1 October

Technical spare parts, engine and deck stores and most of the IMPA catalogue — delivered to vessels across the ARA range by truck and supply boat, at short notice.

Whale Maritime is pleased to announce that Whale Maritime Europe will commence ship supply operations in Rotterdam with effect from 1 October. From that date the company will serve owners, managers, operators and charterers calling the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp (ARA) range with technical spare parts, engine and deck stores, and the great majority of items listed in the IMPA Marine Stores Guide.

The Rotterdam desk extends a ship supply platform the group already runs on both sides of the Atlantic, and brings the same working method to Northwest Europe: fast turnaround on requests for quotation, fully IMPA-coded offers, transparent lead times, and a single point of contact from enquiry through to signed delivery note.

What we supply

The Rotterdam operation covers the full chandlery scope that vessels in the ARA range typically requisition, including:

  • Technical spare parts — main and auxiliary engine spares, pumps, compressors, purifiers, valves and fittings, bearings, seals, gaskets and packings, hydraulic hoses and couplings, filters and filter elements
  • Engine stores and workshop supplies — hand and power tools, measuring instruments, welding consumables, abrasives, fasteners, pipe and tube, electrical and lighting, batteries and cabling
  • Deck stores and mooring equipment — ropes and mooring lines, wires, shackles, blocks and rigging, tarpaulins, hatch and hold cleaning gear, paints, coatings and marine chemicals
  • Safety and rescue — LSA and FFE items, immersion suits, lifejackets and lifebuoys, fire extinguishers and hoses, breathing apparatus consumables, gas detection, PPE and workwear
  • Cabin, steward and galley stores — cleaning materials, linen, tableware, galley equipment and consumables
  • Nautical and bridge supplies — charts and nautical publications, flags, stationery, IMO-required forms and posters
  • Lubricants, greases and marine chemicals in drums, pails and IBCs

Delivery across the ARA range

Whale Maritime Europe will be able to deliver at most berths in the ARA region, alongside by truck and, where a vessel is at anchorage, at a terminal jetty or otherwise not accessible by road, by supply boat. Coverage includes Rotterdam and its basins — Europoort, Maasvlakte, Botlek, Pernis and Waalhaven — together with Amsterdam, IJmuiden, Antwerp, Ghent, Terneuzen, Vlissingen, Moerdijk, Dordrecht and Zeebrugge.

Deliveries can be arranged at relatively short notice, including back-to-back supply for vessels on a short port stay, drydock and repair-period support, and consolidation of multiple maker and third-party shipments into a single delivery to the ship. Customs clearance, transit documentation, warehousing and last-mile transport are handled by Whale Maritime, so the vessel receives one consolidated delivery, one packing list and one invoice.

Initially coordinated from Valencia

In its first phase the Rotterdam operation will be monitored and coordinated by the Whale Maritime team in Valencia, Spain, which has run the group’s European purchasing, quotation and logistics desk for several years. Enquiries, quotations, order confirmations and delivery follow-up will be handled by that team, working with a local supply and transport network in the Netherlands and Belgium. The arrangement keeps the ARA service on the same procurement systems, supplier base and service standards as the rest of the group from day one, with a dedicated presence in Rotterdam to follow as volumes develop.

Enquiries

Requests for quotation, requisitions in IMPA format, and general enquiries regarding supply in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and the wider ARA range can be sent to ara@whalemaritime.com. Vessels calling at short notice are encouraged to send requisitions as early as possible, together with ETA, berth and agent details, so that stores can be staged for delivery on arrival.

Whale Maritime Trinidad & Tobago Expands Its Technical Warehouse

New stock of ship spares, marine valves and safety equipment in San Fernando from November 2026

Whale Maritime’s Trinidad & Tobago branch, Triton Maritime Supply and Services Ltd, has invested in a significant new inventory of technical stores and ship spares, held locally in San Fernando. The expansion is aimed at growing the company’s share of the ship supply and offshore supply market in Trinidad & Tobago.

Stock held locally, not ordered in

Whale Maritime Trinidad & Tobago is already an established supplier of ship spares, provisions and wider ship chandlery services in the country. What changes now is depth of stock. By holding the items local buyers expect to find on the shelf, the branch can quote faster and deliver sooner — which is what opens the door to the offshore operators and energy service companies working out of Trinidad & Tobago, where waiting on an import is rarely an option.

The expanded inventory will cover most of the fastest-moving items in the IMPA catalogue, together with marine valves, marine safety equipment and a broad range of technical stores and spares.

In place by 1 November 2026

The new inventory is expected to be in place in San Fernando no later than 1 November 2026.

Ship Supply and Ship Chandlery on the East Coast of Spain

Whale Maritime Spain — ship chandler and marine supplier, Valencia

Whale Maritime Spain has built a strong foundation in ship supply and ship chandlery across the ports of Spain’s East Coast, from Barcelona to Almeria. Working with shipowners, ship managers and vessel operators calling the Spanish Mediterranean, we deliver marine supplies where and when the vessel needs them.

A strategic warehouse in Valencia

Our warehouse in Valencia sits at the centre of the region’s busiest trade lane, and it is what allows Whale Maritime Spain to offer one of the strongest ship supply services on the East Coast of Spain. From it we supply a wide range of marine products, including a large part of the technical section of the IMPA catalogue — deck stores, engine stores, cabin and galley stores, safety equipment, tools and spare parts — alongside ship provisions in both dry and fresh categories.

With one of the strongest footprints of any ship chandler and marine supplier in the region, Whale Maritime serves vessels calling at Valencia, Castellón, Sagunto, Tarragona, Barcelona, Alicante, Cartagena and Almeria at some of the most competitive prices available in the Spanish Mediterranean.

Shorter lead times over the next 12 months

We are pleased to announce that over the coming 12 months Whale Maritime will intensify its efforts in the region by increasing stock held on hand at the Valencia warehouse. More stock in place means shorter lead times and faster delivery to shipowners and operators whose vessels call at East Coast Spain ports — fewer back-to-back orders, fewer delays alongside, and a more predictable supply chain for the vessel.

An international team in Valencia

Whale Maritime Spain is well known as an international player in Valencia. Over many years we have built a diversified team able to speak directly with shipowners, superintendents and purchasing departments from all over the world, in their own language and in the language of the trade. For a ship supplier, that is not a detail — it is what keeps an order accurate from enquiry to delivery on board.
